Working with artist Katie Sollohub
I am really pleased to be working with local artist Katie Sollohub supporting her Arts Council England funded project, Immersed.
Immersed is a project about cold water swimming and wellbeing where Katie will swim with, sit with, paint, and record conversations on video, with swimmers in and around the Shoreham area.
There is a huge amount of work involved and I work with Katie weekly to support her through the process. Sometimes the work is practical in nature, creating simple systems and prioritising tasks. It’s so important to find what works for each client, some people love an app for project management where others prefer a well organised spreadsheet or find that a notebook works better for daily tasks.
But the really fun part is being able to hold the space to enable to Katie to see the project as a whole. It is so easy to feel overwhelmed by the numerous tasks involved with each element of the project and I gently nudge Katie back to what is at its essence, a joy of sea swimming, painting, being present and connecting with people.
I’ve worked with creative folk in design and architecture studios for years and I love supporting people with their work and help them thrive.
